Wildskeins Yarn Company is an independently owned yarn shop that sells a wide variety of knitting and crocheting supplies. The shop was opened in the spring of 2006 by Brandi Lewis and was recently purchased by Ann Dobbins in July of 2009. Mary Baily-Bicking continues to work at the store and teach classes in knitting and crocheting. We offer wools, cottons, silks, linens and blends, as well as needles, notions and knitting bags and kits. We also offer individual and group classes.

Tuesday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.

Wed., Thurs, Friday, 10 a.m. -5:30 p.m.

Saturday, 10 a.m.-3 p.m

Sit N’ Knits are Tuesdays, 5:30-8 p.m. and Saturdays, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Products:

We offer yarns by Berroco, Cascade, Crystal Palace, Classic Elite , Knitting Fever, Plymouth , Rowan, Fiesta, Noro, Sublime, Elsebeth Lavold, Debbie Bliss, Regia and more. We carry several hand spun and dyed yarns by local crafters. Wildskeins sells needles by Addi, Crystal Palace , Kollage, Denise and Serendipity, notions by Clover, BagSmith and Lantern Moon and bags by the Nantucket Bag Company and DellaQ and Lantern Moon. We also sell locally handmade shawl pins, needles and some pottery.

Take Exit 123 off of I-40 East

Take 2^nd right to 321-North

Drive 3 miles and turn right onto 2^nd Ave. N.W. (between McDonald’s and Ham’s)

Drive 1.7 miles and turn right at 2^nd St. N.E. (Hwy. 127)

Store is two blocks on left, across from All-Glass

Directions from Newton:

Take Hwy 70 West to Lenoir-Rhyne Blvd.

Turn right onto Lenoir-Rhyne Blvd. (Home Depot intersection)

Drive 1.5miles to Tate Blvd and turn left.

At next intersection, turn left. Store is on the left, across from All-Glass.

From Lenoir and Boone:

Take 321 South and cross Catawba River .

Turn left onto 2^nd Ave. N.W. (between McDonald’s and Ham’s)

Drive 1.7 miles and turn right at 2^nd St. N.E. (Hwy. 127)

Store is two blocks on left, across from All-Glass

From Statesville:

Take I-40 West to exit 125 in Hickory

Turn right onto Lenoir-Rhyne Blvd.

Drive 1.5miles to Tate Blvd and turn left.

At next intersection, turn left. Store is on the left, across from All-Glass.

From Charlotte/Gastonia/Lincolnton:

Take 321 North. Go under the Hwy 70 overpass when you get to Hickory.

Turn right onto 2nd. Ave. N.W (between McDonald's and Ham's Restaurant.

Drive 1.7 miles and turn right at 2nd St. N.E. (Hwy 127).
